Matariki movement

with Kerry-Ann Stanton

A free community dance

Sunday 16 July 2023, 10.30 – 12.30pm

Matariki is a time for honouring the past, family, and to prepare for the new year. Matariki Movement is a creative movement workshop, where participants are invited to bring themselves and perhaps someone from a different generation, a friend or family member, to dance together and exchange stories.

By connecting to Matariki in this way, friends and whānau can embrace the letting go of the past year and awaken ready for the year ahead.

Measured time, making meaning

Action paused, acceptance ready

Time to gather self and others

Acknowledge the cycles of life and death

Revisiting our dreams

In depth

Kept safe and warm

In Grace (An acrostic poem/KA)
